The Ashmolean Museum Security Officer position is a part-time role based at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford. It involves patrols, access control, and operating CCTV and life-safety systems, with duties spanning incident response, first aid, and risk assessments.

This permanent post requires DBS clearance and references. The working pattern is 30 hours per week, typically Friday to Monday, 09:45 to 17:15, with a contributory pension and extensive annual leave benefits.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patrols and monitor entrances.
• Manage access control and operate security systems.
• Respond to incidents, emergencies and alarms.
• Undertake first aid and fire warden duties.
• Support risk assessments, investigations, evacuations and safety checks.
• Assist with control room operations, fault reporting, record keeping, reception duties, deliveries and visitor enquiries.
• Support events and contractors and maintain high standards of security and safety.
