Job summary

WR Engineering in Rushden is seeking a hands-on Shift Maintenance Engineer to join a tier-one packaging manufacturer in a fast-paced production environment. You will perform fault finding, reactive repairs, and planned preventive maintenance across electrical and mechanical systems, working with production and engineering teams to improve reliability and uptime.

Qualifications

• Strong electrical engineering background required.
• Recognised engineering qualification such as City & Guilds, ONC or NVQ.
• Experience in manufacturing/production environment.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and interpret schematics.
• Knowledge of PLCs, pneumatics and hydraulics is essential.

Responsibilities

• Fault diagnosis and repair of production equipment
• Electrical and mechanical maintenance across site machinery
• Planned preventive maintenance and TPM activities
• Supporting improvements to machine efficiency and downtime reduction
