Job summary

Hunter Selection Limited is recruiting a shift engineer for a leading food manufacturer in the UK. You will perform planned, preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance on high-speed production and packaging machinery, ensuring minimal downtime.

The role requires electrical and mechanical problem solving, knowledge of PLCs, HMIs and SCADA, with a bias towards electrical skills. This is a hands-on position with opportunities for progression and a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Must hold NVQ Level 3 in engineering or maintenance.
• Ideally HNC/HND or time-served apprenticeship.
• Experience in fast-paced FMCG manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance of all high-speed production & packaging machinery.
• Work on control panels, HMIs, PLCs, SCADA systems.
• Electrical & mechanical fault finding, problem solving and repairs.
• Dealing with motors, VSDs, servo drives, pneumatics, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, inverters
• Mechanical fabrication, fitting, welding
