Job summary

Synergi Recruitment is seeking two Multi-Skilled Shift Engineers with a mechanical bias for a leading FMCG snacks manufacturer in Stevenage. You will maintain and improve production equipment, minimise downtime and ensure plant reliability in a fast-paced environment.

This role is mechanically focused but requires strong electrical fault-finding capabilities. You will work a 4 on / 4 off rotating shift, including two weeks of days (7:00am-7:00pm) and two weeks of nights (7:00pm-7:00am), 12-hour

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years' experience within FMCG or manufacturing.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding skills.
• Experience working with conveyors, motors, gearboxes, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Electrical fault-finding experience on industrial machinery.
• Welding and fabrication experience.
• Ability to read technical drawings.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
• Electrical and mechanical fault diagnosis and repair.
• Welding and fabrication work as required.
• Equipment modifications and continuous improvement projects.
• Root cause analysis of recurring faults.
• Reducing downtime and improving machine reliability.
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records via CMMS.
• Supporting food safety, GMP and health & safety standards.

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Multi-Skilled Shift Engineers to join a leading FMCG manufacturing business within the snack-food sector. Candidate Requirements

Essential

• NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 3 years' experience within FMCG or manufacturing
• Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
• Experience working with conveyors, motors, gearboxes, hydraulics and pneumatics
• Electrical fault-finding experience on industrial machinery
• Welding and fabrication experience
• Ability to read technical drawings
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement

Desirable

• 18th Edition Qualification
• PLC fault-finding experience
• Experience with CMMS systems (Pirana advantageous)
• Lean Six Sigma knowledge
• Food Safety Level 2
• Packaging machinery experience
