Job summary

The Village Bakery Group is recruiting for a Shift Engineer at our Wrexham sites. You will ensure a safe working environment and drive proactive and reactive engineering maintenance to meet capacity and efficiency targets.

You will deliver engineering changes, support new equipment, and work with our engineering and projects teams to sustain audit readiness and continuous improvement. This is a continental shift role with days/nights rotation.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience in a similar engineering role.
• Qualified electrically or mechanically (or time served) with demonstrable experience to prove you are a multi-skilled engineer.
• Proven desire and ability to deliver success.
• Passion to learn new machinery and engage with machine manufacturers to build your engineering skills and competence.
• A true problem solver in all areas.
• Engineering experience in a food manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring there is a safe environment for all workers and visitors to our facilities.
• Delivering proactive, planned-preventative maintenance to meet capacity and efficiency targets.
• Delivering reactive maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Implementing engineering changes and continuous improvement projects.
• Supporting the introduction of new equipment to production facilities.
• Building relationships with stakeholders and managing expectations.
• Continuing professional development through training.
• Supporting audit readiness and collaboration with the projects team.
