Allied Bakeries in Stevenage seeks a skilled Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer to keep bakery operations running smoothly. You’ll handle breakdowns, perform proactive maintenance, and support site performance through reliability improvements.

The role requires hands-on electrical/mechanical skills, strong problem-solving, and a proactive attitude. Rotating days/nights on a 4 on/4 off pattern with a strong safety culture and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Hands-on with electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience in breakdown repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Ability to lead continuous improvement activities.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair automation, electrical, and mechanical faults during breakdowns.
• Deliver proactive and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Support and implement the site engineering strategy.
• Lead and deliver continuous improvement projects on time and within budget.
• Contribute to improved site performance through KPIs such as OEE and CCOs.
• Maintain and promote high standards of health and safety.
• Provide training, coaching, and technical support to operators and fellow engineers.
• Support wider site activities as required to ensure operational success.
