Job summary

Roberts Bakery 1887 Ltd in Winsford, Cheshire, is seeking Multiskilled Shift Engineers to sustain production and drive continuous improvement. The role covers planned and reactive maintenance to minimize downtime and improve quality across the site.

Applicants should have an Engineering Apprenticeship or ONC/BTEC/HNC and experience with PLCs, HMIs, robotics, pneumatics and hydraulics. The shift pattern is 168 Day/Night, with a salary up to £55,000 dependent on experience.

Qualifications

• Recognised Engineer Apprenticeship (electrical or multiskilled) or ONC/BTEC/HNC.
• Knowledge of MS Office; CMMS; Pneumatics; Steam systems; Hydraulic systems; PLCs (Siemens S7,S5; Mitsubishi; Allen Bradley); HMIs; Robotics and inverters.
• FMCG & Food industry experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Fault diagnosis and breakdown repairs of plant and site service equipment.
• Planned maintenance and maintenance requests.
• Adherence to statutory checks and GMP.
• Involvement in CI and capital projects.
• Upkeep of stores and all Engineering Technical documentation.
• Support and coach relevant employees in all maintenance aspects.
• Provide effective 24/7 equipment care.
• Deliver effective engineering meetings and handovers.
• Work within site policies and customer codes of practice.
• Aim for KPIs: Health & Safety, Cost, Quality, Service, People.

The Opportunity: We have vacancies for Multiskilled Shift Engineers at our bakery in Winsford, Cheshire.

Job Purpose: This multi skilled engineering role carries out planned and reactive maintenance activities to minimize downtime and reduce quality issues. Driving continuous improvement of all machinery, equipment and ways of working in line with business strategy is key as well as compliance with legislative, business and site procedures and practices.

What you will contribute:

• Fault diagnosis and breakdown repairs of plant and site service equipment
• Planned maintenance and Maintenance requests.
• Adherence to statutory checks and GMP
• Involvement in CI and Capital projects
• Upkeep of stores and all Engineering Technical documentation.
• Support and coach relevant employees in all aspects of shared maintenance
• Undertake training and up skilling programs as directed by business needs.
• Provide effective 24/7 equipment care
• Deliver effective communication Engineering meetings and handovers
• Make decisions within the framework of site policies and compliance to customer codes of practice.
• Working to KPIs that include Health & Safety, Cost (Performance /OEE), Quality (Customer Complaints/Right First Time), Service (On time in full), People

What you will bring:

• Knowledge of :MS office; CMMS; Pneumatics; Steam Systems; Hydraulic systems; Plc Siemens S7,S5, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley; HMI’s; Robotics and Inverters

• Ability to work within a team and also on own intuition, building effective relationships with our internal customers: Health and Safety, Quality, Engineering, Production, Frontline Managers, Middle and Senior Managers

Shift Pattern

168 Day/Night - 2 days/2 nights 4 off

Salary - Up to 55K dependent on experience.
