Job summary
Tarmac is recruiting a Multi Skilled Operative for Ravelrig Quarry in Midlothian, near Edinburgh. This hands-on role involves operating fixed and mobile plant, performing weighbridge duties, and supporting production targets on a busy quarry site.
You will work with a multi-skilled team, promote safety and efficiency, and benefit from development opportunities and a supportive company culture. Experience in quarry or asphalt plants is helpful but training is provided.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Plant
- Shovel License – desirable
- Good timekeeping – flexible as to the Units requirements
- Good communicationskills – bringing problems to the attention of Line Management
- Previous experience in mobile Plant operations
- Full UK Driving Licence
- IT Literate
Responsibilities
- Operate fixed and mobile plant including loading shovel and dump trucks
- Carry out weighbridge duties
- Support daily and weekly production targets
- Ensure plant operates safely, efficiently and remains available
- Perform routine plant inspections and report or act on defects
- Assist with basic plant maintenance
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality compliance
- Keep site housekeeping to a high standard
- Communicate issues clearly to the Supervisor and wider team
