Job summary

Carlisle Construction Materials Europe is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to deliver reactive and proactive maintenance on site plant and machinery. You will follow Supervisor instructions, prioritise tasks, and work to standard operating procedures with safety at the forefront.

The role involves PLC fault-finding, electrical and mechanical maintenance, and installing new equipment. Strong IT skills and clear communication with cross‑functional teams are essential.

Qualifications

• Hold a 16th, 17th or 18th Edition electrical installation certificate.
• Relevant qualifications in mechanical/hydraulic/pneumatic maintenance.
• Relevant qualifications in PLC program diagnostics.
• 5+ years of experience in a similar manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience with PLCs and 3-phase ladder logic fault-finding and problem solving.
• Good IT skills including MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide reactive and proactive maintenance to plant and machinery.
• Follow instructions from Maintenance Supervisor and prioritise tasks.
• Work to SOPs and uphold safety standards at all times.
• Install new equipment to required standards and specifications.
• Diagnose faults and repair or replace defective parts as needed.
• Perform start-up procedures after repairs or new installations.
• Assist other Maintenance Engineers as required.
• Carry out electrical maintenance within competence level.
• Carry out mechanical maintenance within competence level.
• Use lifting equipment safely and follow procedures.
• Maintain good housekeeping on a daily basis.
• Communicate openly with team and ensure handovers are clear.
