Job summary

Proactive Global is seeking a highly skilled Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join its Leeds site at a state-of-the-art production facility. You will maintain automated production equipment, diagnose and fix electrical and mechanical faults, and collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Completed Engineering Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent.
• Experience in FMCG or fast-paced manufacturing environments.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
• Experience with automated production equipment and PLCs.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults
• Respond quickly and effectively to equipment breakdowns
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to reduce recurring equipment failures
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using a CMMS system
• Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime
• Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety procedures

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience within FMCG, food manufacturing, beverage, packaging, pharmaceutical, or other fast-paced manufacturing environments
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
• Experience with automated production equipment and PLC-controlled machinery
• Knowledge of conveyors, motors, drives, sensors, pumps, and pneumatics
• Experience using SAP PM, Maximo, Pirana, Shire, CMMS, or similar maintenance systems
• Able to work effectively within a 24/7 manufacturing operation
