Job summary

Mitie is recruiting an experienced Multiskilled Engineer with an HVAC bias to join our Facilities Management team, supporting a portfolio of high-profile retail sites across Birmingham. You will maintain, service and repair HVAC and building services equipment.

The role involves PPM and reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and ensuring safety and compliance. You will work autonomously across multiple sites, with no call-out rota and opportunities for training and career progression.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds qualification, or equivalent, in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Proven experience within a maintenance, facilities management or building services environment.
• Strong HVAC and mechanical maintenance experience within commercial environments.
• Strong UK industry experience with a sound understanding of Health & Safety legislation and statutory compliance requirements.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to manually handle tools and equipment up to 20kg, work at height and safely use vertical access equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service and repair HVAC and related building services equipment across retail and commercial environments.
• Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on HVAC, mechanical and building services systems.
• Diagnose faults, identify root causes and implement effective repairs to minimise downtime and ensure operational continuity.
• Deliver outstanding customer service by responding to client queries and keeping stakeholders informed of all site activities.
• Oversee statutory compliance works and supervise contractors and sub-contractors, ensuring all works are completed safely and to the highest standards.
• Complete all work-related documentation accurately and within required timescales.
