Job summary

The Butchers Recruiter is seeking a Multiskilled Engineer to join a busy food production site in Wolverhampton. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance, diagnose faults, and drive improvements to equipment reliability and plant performance.

The role involves a structured 4 on 4 off shift pattern with fully paid breaks, and is suitable for applicants with a recognised electrical engineering qualification and experience in food manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Recognised electrical engineering qualification such as HNC or equivalent.
• Ability to fault find on mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience in food manufacturing or production environment is desirable.
• Experience with PLCs and production machinery is advantageous.
• Knowledge of health and safety and GMP standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive and reactive maintenance across production equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime.
• Support continuous improvement projects to improve plant reliability and performance.
• Complete maintenance documentation and ensure maintenance systems remain up to date.
• Work closely with production teams to maximise equipment availability.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, health and safety, hygiene and GMP at all times.

What we're looking for in a Multiskilled Engineer

• Recognised electrical engineering qualification such as HNC or equivalent
• Ability to fault find on both mechanical and electrical systems
• Previous maintenance experience within a food manufacturing or production environment is desirable
• Experience working with PLCs, inverters and production machinery is advantageous
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance, health and safety and food manufacturing standards

Working Hours

• 4 on 4 off rotating shifts
• Days: 05:30 - 17:30
• Nights: 17:30 - 05:30
• All breaks are paid.
