Pilgrim's Europe is seeking a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our fast-paced manufacturing operation in Spalding. You will maintain reliability, minimise downtime and uphold food safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in an FMCG or food manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of RCA (Root Cause Analysis).
• Understanding of Health & Safety best practices.
• Experience with CMMS systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across the site.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and fault-finding.
• Support production to maximise efficiency and performance.
• Update maintenance work orders and CMMS records accurately.
• Ensure factory areas are ready for production start-up.
• Drive continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
• Support food safety, quality, health & safety, and environmental standards.
• Maintain 5S and housekeeping in engineering areas.
• Collaborate with operations to hit site targets.
• Contribute to cost reduction and minimise downtime.

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off 6-6

We are looking for a talented and driven Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our fast-paced manufacturing operation. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys problem-solving, continuous improvement, and making a real impact on production performance.

Working within a high-performing engineering team, you will play a key role in ensuring maximum equipment reliability, minimising downtime, and maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and food safety.

What You'll Be Doing

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities across the site
• Responding quickly to equipment breakdowns and fault-finding issues
• Supporting production teams to maximise efficiency and performance
• Completing maintenance work orders and updating maintenance systems accurately
• Ensuring all factory areas are ready for production start-up
• Driving continuous improvement, reliability, and root cause analysis activities
• Supporting food safety, quality, health & safety, and environmental standards
• Maintaining high housekeeping and 5S standards throughout engineering areas
• Working collaboratively with operational teams to achieve site targets
• Contributing to cost reduction initiatives while minimising production downtime

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in an engineering maintenance and fault-finding role within an FMCG or food manufacturing environment
• Strong mechanical and/or electrical maintenance skills
• Experience supporting continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
• Good knowledge of:
  • Food manufacturing environments
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
  • Health & Safety best practices
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A proactive, can-do attitude with the ability to make decisions under pressure
• Computer literate with experience of CMMS systems such as Holistech or SAP being advantageous

Qualifications

Applicants should hold one of the following:

• HNC/HND in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (preferred)
• NVQ Level 3 Engineering
• BTEC ONC Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
• BTEC Level 3 Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering
• BTEC Level 3 Mechatronics
• City & Guilds Level 3 Engineering

Additional qualifications such as IOSH, ROSPA, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or Food Safety certifications would be advantageous.
