Job summary

HVAC Recruitment Limited is seeking a Multiskilled Engineer for a permanent role at a high-profile Canary Wharf site. The position is primarily static with occasional coverage across East London, reporting into the on-site engineering team and interacting directly with the client.

The successful candidate will have an electrical or mechanical bias, proven FM/building services experience, and strong fault-finding abilities.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Multiskilled Engineer or similar in building services
• Electrical or mechanical bias with FM/building services background
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Experience with lighting systems, especially Simmtronic, is advantageous
• Excellent communication and client-facing manner

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
• Fault finding and diagnosis across M&E building services
• Maintain electrical and mechanical building services
• Diagnose and resolve lighting and building services faults
• Work with lighting control systems, ideally Simmtronic
• Respond to reactive maintenance requests
• Complete maintenance records and job sheets
• Liaise with client and building management team
• Provide professional customer service at all times
• Support other East London sites when required
• Collaborate with wider engineering and facilities management team

Multiskilled Engineer

Location: Canary Wharf, London

Salary: £45,000 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

Job Type: Permanent

Contract: Static / Mobile Cover

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Multiskilled Engineer to join the facilities management team at a high-profile commercial workplace in Canary Wharf.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced M&E / Building Services Engineer to become the main engineer on site, working as part of an established engineering team and taking responsibility for the day-to-day maintenance of the building.

The Role

The role is primarily static, Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm. You will be part of a wider engineering team on site, with occasional requirements to provide maintenance support across other commercial sites in East London.

As the main engineer on site, you will need to be confident, professional and client-facing, with excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with the client and wider facilities team.

A strong background in lighting control systems / Simmtronic systems would be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience as a Multiskilled Engineer, Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer, M&E Engineer, Building Services Engineer or Maintenance Engineer
• An Electrical or Mechanical bias
• A good commercial Facilities Management / Building Services background
• Experience with lighting systems / Simmtronic would be highly desirable
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• A professional and confident client-facing manner
• The ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team
• A full understanding of planned and reactive maintenance
