Job summary

Lancer Scott, based in Bristol, is seeking a Multi Skilled Electrical Improver to support our electrical work from complex repairs to testing and inspection, including work at the University of West of England (UWE).

You will undertake planned maintenance, reactive and remedial repairs, install and test electrical systems, and document works while maintaining safety and regulatory standards on site across our estate.

Qualifications

• Minimum of NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
• Hold a minimum of 3+ years' experience in a building maintenance role, particularly in relation to planned, reactive and remedial maintenance.
• Current Full UK Driver's License

Responsibilities

• Support the completion of pre-planned maintenance of electrical equipment and systems across the UWE estate.
• Completion of reactive and remedial repairs associated with the electrical systems following testing and inspections as directed by the Helpdesk.
• Plan and complete a range of works associated with electrical systems, including installation and testing.
• Use initiative to solve technical problems during reactive maintenance, including sourcing parts and seeking manufacturer support.
• Provide detailed write-ups of works carried out and ensure client is kept up to date.
• Carry out works within timescales, complying with regulations and contract specifications.
• Record procedures and maintenance logs to minimise risks.
• Utilise PDAs or electronic devices to complete works.
• Liaise with control hub for efficient response, on own or in a team.
• Observe health and safety at all times and conduct risk assessments for each task.
• Provide regular out-of-hours cover on a rota system (typical 1 in 6).
