Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Health & Safety Manager to champion SHEQ across our Desford operations. You will lead safety strategy, coach leaders, investigate incidents, and drive continuous improvement with data-driven insights.

The role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a salary range of £55,000–£65,000 per year and a benefits package including pension and life assurance.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Diploma required and essential for the role.
• Proven experience leading SHEQ activities across multiple sites.
• Strong leadership and influencing skills across stakeholders at all levels.
• Excellent incident investigation, root cause analysis, and risk management capabilities.
• Analytical and reporting skills with ability to interpret SHEQ performance data.

Responsibilities

• Lead the contract's Health & Safety strategy ensuring compliance with client, company, and regulatory requirements.
• Coach operational leaders and teams to improve safety performance and culture.
• Lead incident investigations and corrective action planning to prevent recurrence.
• Analyse SHEQ data and trends to identify risks and opportunities across sites.
• Develop, implement and review safety management systems, SSOW, training and annual SHEQ plans.
