Job summary

Birmingham City Council's Adult Social Care Directorate is seeking a skilled Multi-Disciplinary Team Manager to lead and develop services for adults in Birmingham. You will inspire teams, drive improvements and ensure high-quality, person-centred practice.

Reporting to the Head of Service, you will shape service delivery, promote safeguarding and partnership working, and manage performance, budgets and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of adult social care practice.
• Experience leading and developing staff.
• Experience safeguarding adults.
• Experience with budget management.
• Proven partnership working and stakeholder engagement.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a multidisciplinary team.
• Drive service improvement and high standards of practice.
• Embed strengths-based approaches and Three Conversations model.
• Ensure compliance with Care Act 2014 and related legislation.
• Oversee safeguarding, risk management and quality assurance.
• Provide supervision and staff development opportunities.
• Build partnerships across Council, health and social care services.
• Lead multi-agency planning and decision-making meetings.
• Monitor service quality through audits and stakeholder engagement.
• Manage budgets and resources effectively.
• Respond to statutory complaints and implement changes.
• Deputise for Head of Service when required.
