Job summary

Ian Williams Ltd. is seeking a Multi-Trade Supervisor (Working Foreperson) to lead a reactive repairs team in Birmingham on a new long-term contract.

You will supervise on-site repairs, mentor operatives, and work with the Contracts Manager to maintain high-quality delivery while enforcing health and safety standards. A UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified to a minimum NVQ 2 level or equivalent in a core trade.
• SSSTS qualification would be advantageous but not essential.
• Sound knowledge of construction processes.
• Ability to ‘lead by example’ and incentivise an experienced directly employed and sub contract trade workforce.
• Possession of a full current UK Driving licence, which is essential to undertake the Multi Trade Supervisor role.

Responsibilities

• Lead from the front on site, carrying out reactive maintenance repairs, while overseeing your team of operatives.
• Work alongside the Contracts Manager to ensure smooth, high-quality delivery at all times.
• Perform on-site welfare checks, monitor safe working practices, PPE, van and tool inspections.

The Multi Trade Supervisor role:

• You’ll lead from the front on site, carrying out reactive maintenance repairs, whilst overseeing your team of operatives and assisting with any issues
• Setting an example to the rest of the team on the tools, you will also work alongside our Contracts Manager, ensuring smooth and high quality delivery at all times
• Health and Safety reporting – you will complete on-site welfare checks, including monitoring safe ways of working, PPE, van, and tool/equipment inspections.
