Job summary

Sanctuary Group is seeking Multi-Trade Operatives to join our Ely, Cambridgeshire team. You will perform a range of repair and maintenance tasks across properties, including plumbing and carpentry, with support from a larger team. Driving may be required for company business.

You must have relevant NVQ/Plumbing qualifications and WRAS compliance, and CSCS cards will be checked. Sanctuary maintains a diverse, inclusive culture and offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Proactive, customer-focused with high-quality workmanship across repair tasks.
• Experience across a range of primary trades including plumbing, carpentry, plastering, painting and decorating.
• Qualified to NVQ Level 2, Plumbing Level 3, WRAS; CSCS copies not accepted at interview.

Responsibilities

• Carry out responsive repairs and maintenance in line with contract specifications.
• Install kitchens, bathrooms, wet rooms, windows, doors and fencing.
• Maintain tools and restock equipment as needed.
• Respond to complaints and service breakdowns and inform customers of progress.
• Drive company vehicle with full UK driving licence when required.

Job description

We have exciting opportunities for Multi-Trade Operatives to join our team based in Ely, Cambridgeshire, working alongside 19 other team members. These roles involve both lone working and collaborating with colleagues as part of a wider, supportive team. Day-to-day responsibilities will include carrying out a variety of responsive repairs and maintenance tasks, such as plumbing repairs, carpentry works, plastering, fencing repairs, kitchen upgrades, decorating, and general property maintenance. We are keen to hear from candidates with experience in a range of primary trades, including plumbing, carpentry, plastering, painting and decorating, brickwork, tiling, and general building maintenance. The successful candidates will be proactive, customer-focused individuals who can deliver high-quality workmanship across a variety of repair and maintenance activities. The role of Multi-Trade Operative - Day to Day will include:

• Carry out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties in line with contract specifications
• Installation of new kitchens, bathrooms, wet rooms, windows, doors and fencing
• Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and restocking these when needed
• Respond positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery, by resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
• Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer, We work closely with the Home Office in order to prevent unlawful working.
• A basic Disclosure and Barring Service check will be necessary in the event of a successful application which we will pay for. Sanctuary Maintenance Contractors Limited is a subsidiary of Sanctuary Housing Association, an exempt charity.
• To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to or undertaking NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (carpentry, electrical), Plumbing Level 3, Unvented - G3 Certificate and Water Regulations (WRAS). As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted
• Awareness of health and safety regulations and working legislation
• Skills in some of the following disciplines - carpentry, plumbing
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to prioritise workloads, work to deadlines and plan ahead
• This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
