Job summary

Sanctuary is seeking a Multi-Trade Operative to cover sites across TQ postcodes. The role involves carpentry, plumbing, doors/windows fitting, plastering, tiling, fencing and general maintenance. A company van and power tools are provided to complete jobs to a high standard.

The post includes 40 hours per week, a salary of £35,579–£37,452 per year, and a not-for-profit environment with generous leave and benefits. Applicants should have relevant NVQ qualifications and a valid UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Must be NVQ Level 2 in carpentry or related core subject; plumbing Level 3 requires Unvented G3 and WRAS certificates.
• Awareness of health and safety regulations and working legislation.
• Skills in Plumbing, Carpentry and Joinery, kitchen and bathroom installations, UPVC door and window fitting.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties in line with contract specifications
• Carrying out work at heights using ladders for soffits and guttering maintenance
• Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained and restocked
• Responding to complaints and breakdowns, resolving problems and informing customers
• Providing accurate and timely information on progress of works

We have an opportunity for a Multi-Trade Operative to join our team, covering different sites across TQ postcodes. These works are predominantly in domestic properties and include Carpentry, plumbing, installing doors / windows, plastering, tiling, fencing and general maintenance. Due to the nature of the role, a company van will be provided as well as power tools in order for you to complete jobs to a high standard.

The role of Multi-Trade Operative will include:

• Carrying out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties in line with contract specifications
• Carrying out work at heights. Candidates must be comfortable using ladders, as duties include access to and maintenance of soffits and guttering
• Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and restocking these when needed
• Responding positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery, by resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
• Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer

Skills and experiences:

• To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to or undertaking NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (carpentry, electrical. If Plumbing Level 3 is required, Unvented - G3 Certificate and Water Regulations (WRAS). As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted
• Awareness of health and safety regulations and working legislation
• Skills in some of the following disciplines - Plumbing, Carpentry and Joinery, kitchen and bathroom installations, UPVC door and window fitting
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to priorities workloads, work to deadlines and plan ahead
• This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
