Job summary

Sanctuary Group is seeking a Multi-Trade Operative to join our Voids team, covering sites across TQ postcodes. The role carries a salary of £35,579 per year, 40 hours per week, and a temporary contract up to 12 months with potential for permanency.

Responsibilities include carpentry, plumbing, wet trades, painting, glazing, tiling, and general maintenance to return void properties to acceptable standards. A company van and power tools are provided.

Qualifications

• Must be NVQ Level 2 in carpentry or electrical; Plumbing Level 3 with WRAS may be required.
• Provide original certification at interview; copies/CSCS cards not accepted.
• Awareness of health and safety regulations and working legislation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out construction, fault fixing and maintenance per contract specs.
• Work at heights using ladders to access soffits and guttering.
• Keep tools and equipment in good condition and restock as needed.
• Respond to complaints and breakdowns, communicate progress clearly to customers.
• Provide accurate updates on progress of works for customers.

Temporary position for up to 12 months (possibility of leading to a permanent position)

We have an opportunity for a Multi-Trade Operative to join our Voids team, covering different sites across TQ postcodes. These works are predominantly in domestic properties and include carpentry (including hanging doors and repairs to windows doors), plumbing, wet trades works (including installing new kitchens/bathrooms/wet rooms), painting, glazing, tiling flooring, fencing and general maintenance to return void properties to acceptable standards. Due to the nature of the role, a company van will be provided as well as power tools in order for you to complete jobs to a high standard.

The role of Multi-Trade Operative will include:

• Carrying out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties in line with contract specifications
• Carrying out work at heights. Candidates must be comfortable using ladders, as duties include access to and maintenance of soffits and guttering
• Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and restocking these when needed
• Responding positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery, by resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
• Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer

Skills and experiences:

• To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to or undertaking NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (carpentry, electrical. If Plumbing Level 3 is required, Unvented - G3 Certificate and Water Regulations (WRAS). As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted
• Awareness of health and safety regulations and working legislation
• Skills in some of the following disciplines – Plumbing, Carpentry and Joinery, kitchen and bathroom installations, UPVC door and window fitting
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to priorities workloads, work to deadlines and plan ahead
• This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
