Job summary

Templer HomeBuild is seeking a skilled Multi Trade Operative to join our reactive repairs and voids teams based in Newton Abbot. You will carry out residential repairs and refurbishment works across properties, focusing on plumbing, carpentry, tiling, and plastering tasks.

We value versatility, strong customer service and a proactive approach. A NVQ Level 2 in a relevant trade and a full UK driving licence are required; you will work in domestic social housing environments with a rota for

Responsibilities

• Undertake multi trade work including plumbing, patch plastering, tiling, and carpentry in domestic settings.
• Attend reactive, emergency and routine repairs, and some planned refurbishment.
• Handle repairs such as leaking taps and pipes and kitchen/bathroom fixes.
• Work with residents and communities; participate in on-call rota.

The Multi Trade Operative role:

We’re committed to keeping you safe, happy and supported, therefore Health and Safety is paramount throughout the responsibilities of this role, for you, us, and the customer.

• Use your skills to undertake multi trade work, including jobs related to plumbing, patch plastering, tiling, and carpentry repair. Working in a domestic setting, you have the opportunity to utilise your fault finding and problem-solving capabilities.
• Attending reactive, emergency, and routine repairs, and on occasions planned refurbishment jobs (within void/vacant properties)
• Typical repairs can include broken taps, leaking pipes, drainage unblocks, and general kitchen and bathroom repair work
• Working in a domestic environment, you enjoy working with people, whether as a team, or with the residents.
• Emergency call out will be expected, on a rota basis

What you will bring as a Multi Trade Operative:

• You will be qualified to NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in a relevant trade, with experience in domestic (essential) and social housing environments, desirable, but not essential.
• With a genuine passion for improving people’s homes, you will bring strong customer service skills and enjoy working with others.
• A full UK driving licence is required.
