Multi-Trade Operative

Exeter based covering sites across the South West

£34,376 - £36,185 per year

40 hours per week

We have an opportunity for a Multi-Trade Operative to join our team, covering different sites across the South West. These works are predominantly in domestic properties and include Carpentry, plumbing, installing doors/windows, plastering, tiling, fencing, and general maintenance. A company van and power tools will be provided to enable you to complete jobs to a high standard.

The base office location is Paignton, so occasional travel to this site will be required.

Role Responsibilities:

1. Carrying out construction, fault fixing, and maintenance duties in line with contract specifications.
2. Maintaining tools and equipment in good condition and restocking as needed.
3. Responding positively to complaints and breakdowns, resolving problems or initiating solutions, and keeping customers informed.
4. Providing accurate and timely updates on work progress in an understandable manner.

Skills and Experience:

1. Qualified to or undertaking NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (e.g., carpentry, electrical); Level 3 in Plumbing with Unvented - G3 Certificate and Water Regulations (WRAS) is required. Original certificates must be brought during the interview.
2. Awareness of health and safety regulations and legislation.
3. Skills in disciplines such as Plumbing, Carpentry and Joinery, kitchen and bathroom installations, UPVC door and window fitting.
4. Excellent customer service and communication skills.
5. Ability to prioritize workloads, meet deadlines, and plan ahead.
6. A valid UK driving license, as the role involves driving a company vehicle.
