The Employer:
We are seeking a
Multi Trade Operative – Planned Works within a housing environment. Our client is ambitious, with a five-year plan focused on creating sustainable social housing, building new homes, and investing in existing properties to foster vibrant communities.
The Role:
- Deliver efficient, compliant, and high-standard repair services, prioritizing customer satisfaction.
- Perform fault fixing, maintenance, and repairs in customer properties.
- Carry out carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and other trade tasks at a multi-skilled level, following NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent standards.
- Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues about work progress and actions taken.
- Assess and execute necessary works for tenants.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety legislation, policies, and procedures, including risk assessments and method statements.
- Complete tasks on time and to first-time quality wherever possible.
- Use a 'Schedule of Rates' for job costing and ensure repair orders are accurately varied.
- Be available for out-of-hours emergency call-outs as per the rota.
- Accurately complete and maintain paperwork and records.
- Utilize laptops or smartphones to record repairs and organize workload.
- Procure materials through main suppliers and maintain van stock efficiently.
- Maintain the vehicle in good condition, conduct safety checks, and report defects.
- Assist other trades when required to ensure residents receive high-quality service.
- Operate multi-tasking where trained and qualified.
- Undertake training to expand skill set as needed.
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience in a similar role or trade background, preferably with carpentry, plumbing, masonry, or general maintenance experience.
- Competency in completing a variety of trade tasks at a multi-skilled level.
- Proven experience with carpentry and plumbing across various properties.
- Minimum NVQ Level 2 or equivalent experience in carpentry, masonry, or plumbing.
- Ability to work effectively within a trade team under tight deadlines.
- Full clean driving license.
- Ability to undertake physically demanding work.
Summary:
This is a full-time, temporary-to-permanent role, working 40 hours over 5 days a week. A satisfactory Basic DBS check is required.
