Job summary

Fraser Edwards Recruitment is seeking an experienced Carpenter or Plumber Multi Trade Operative for a long-term contract across Coventry and Nuneaton. You will handle responsive repairs, planned maintenance and refurbishments, ensuring properties are safe and well-maintained with a focus on quality workmanship.

The role requires driving licence, practical trade skills, and the ability to work independently while delivering excellent customer service to residents and clients.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence required; company van provided.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in carpentry and multi-trade maintenance.
• Experience in social housing maintenance preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Carpentry: Hanging doors, fitting skirting boards and architraves, and general carpentry repairs.
• Plumbing: Replacing taps, basins and toilets, identifying and locating leaks, diagnosing faults, and minor repairs.
• Kitchen and bathroom refurbishments: repairs, refurbishment and improvement works.
• Tiling repairs: minor tiling repairs in kitchens and bathrooms.
• Patch plastering: minor plastering repairs for a smooth finish.
• Snagging works: rectify defects to meet quality standards.
• PDA usage: recording jobs, repairs and completed works using a PDA.
• Customer liaison: professional communication with residents, clients and colleagues to deliver reliable service.

Fraser Edwards is working with a leading social housing contractor to recruit an experienced Carpenter or Plumber Multi Trade Operatives for a long-term contract covering Coventry and Nuneaton areas

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Multi Trade Operative capabilities and experience in social housing maintenance. You will be responsible for carrying out a range of responsive repairs, planned maintenance and refurbishment works, ensuring properties are safe, well-maintained and completed to a high standard.

The successful candidate will be reliable, self-motivated and confident working independently, with a strong focus on quality workmanship and excellent customer service when interacting with residents, clients and colleagues.

The Role - Key Responsibilities

• Carpentry: Hanging doors, fitting skirting boards and architraves, and undertaking general carpentry repairs.
• Plumbing: Replacing taps, basins and toilets, identifying and locating leaks, diagnosing plumbing faults, and completing minor repairs.
• Kitchen and Bathroom Refurbishments: Carrying out repair, refurbishment and improvement works.
• Tiling Repairs: Completing minor tiling repairs in kitchens and bathrooms.
• Patch Plastering: Undertaking minor plastering repairs to achieve a smooth, professional finish.
• Snagging Works: Identifying and rectifying defects to ensure all work meets the required quality standards.
• PDA Usage: Accurately recording jobs, repairs and completed works using a PDA.
• Customer Liaison: Communicating professionally with residents, clients and colleagues to deliver a reliable, customer-focused service.

Candidate Requirements

• Full UK Driving Licence: Essential. A company van will be provided for travelling between properties and sites.
• Relevant Trade Qualification: Desirable, although practical skills and hands-on experience are highly valued.
• Minimum 3 Years' Experience: Proven experience in carpentry and multi-trade maintenance, ideally within the social housing sector.
• Strong Carpentry or Plumbing Skills: with additional skills in tiling, patch plastering and general property maintenance.
• Excellent Communication Skills: Able to liaise professionally with residents and provide a high standard of customer service.
• Reliable and Self-Motivated: Capable of managing workloads independently, working efficiently and maintaining high standards of workmanship.
