Multi-Trade Operative – Joiner/Plumber

Location: Chester

Salary: £34,376 - £36,185 per year

Hours: 40 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

We are seeking a Multi-Trade Operative to join our Operations Response team in Chester. You will work as part of a team repairing vacated houses to bring them to a lettable standard. Responsibilities include reactive repairs, ranging from fixing leaks to replacing baths, changing door handles, hanging new doors, and external repairs such as fencing and groundworks.

The role involves lone and team working, with participation in an emergency call-out rota. A company van and power tools will be provided, along with training as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Attending vacant properties to carry out construction, fault fixing, and maintenance duties within social housing.
• Resolving problems or initiating solutions, keeping customers informed.
• Maintaining and restocking van stock levels.
• Providing accurate updates on work progress.
• Participating in out-of-hours call-out duties.

Skills and Experience:

• Qualified to City & Guilds, Unvented G3 Certificate, Water Regulations (WRAS), NVQ Level 2 (Level 3 in Plumbing if core), or currently undertaking these qualifications. Practical experience with lower qualifications is also considered if willing to undertake further training.
• Experience in social housing maintenance is advantageous.
• Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
• Additional skills in plumbing, joinery, carpentry, or plastering are beneficial.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• A full valid UK driving license is required to operate a company vehicle.

Candidates must bring original certification to interviews; copies and CSCS cards are not accepted.
