Sanctuary Multi-Trade Operative – Joiner/Plumber

Location: Chester

Salary: £34,376 - £36,185 per year

Hours: 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm

About the role

We are seeking a Multi-Trade Operative to join our Operations Response team in Chester. The role involves repairing vacated properties to a lettable standard, including reactive repairs such as fixing leaks, replacing baths, changing door handles, and hanging new doors. External repairs like fencing and groundworks are also part of the job.

The position requires both lone and team working, participation in an emergency call-out rota, and the use of a company van and power tools, with training provided as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Attend vacant properties to carry out construction, fault fixing, and maintenance within social housing
• Resolve problems or initiate solutions, keeping customers informed
• Maintain and restock van stock levels
• Provide accurate updates on work progress
• Participate in out-of-hours call-out duties

Skills and qualifications

• Qualified to City & Guilds, Unvented G3 Certificate, Water Regulations (WRAS), NVQ Level 2 (or Level 3 in Plumbing if core)
• Practical experience in a similar social housing role is advantageous
• Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks
• Additional skills in plumbing, joinery, carpentry, or plastering are beneficial
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations
• Valid UK driving license is required for driving company vehicles

Candidates must bring original certification to interviews; copies and CSCS cards are not accepted.
