Job summary

Sanctuary Group is seeking a Multi-Trade Operative to join our responsive maintenance team, covering EX and TA post codes. The role involves domestic property work across carpentry, plumbing, doors/windows installation, plastering, tiling, fencing and general maintenance.

A company van and power tools are supplied to perform duties to a high standard. You will work 40 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, 8:00am-16:30pm.

Qualifications

• Must be NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (carpentry, electrical). If Plumbing Level 3 is required, WRAS/Unvented certification may be needed.
• Bring original certification to interview; copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted.
• Full UK driving licence is required for driving a company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Carry out construction, fault fixing, and maintenance per contract specs.
• Keep tools and equipment in good condition and restock as needed.
• Respond promptly to complaints and breakdowns, keeping customers informed.
• Provide accurate, timely progress updates on works.

Multi-Trade Operative

Covering EX and TA post codes

£35,579 - £37,452 per year

40 hours per week - Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 16:30pm

We have an opportunity for a Multi-Trade Operative to join our responsive maintenance team covering different sites across the EX and TA post codes. These works are predominantly in domestic properties and include Carpentry, Plumbing, installing doors / windows, plastering, tiling, fencing and general maintenance. Due to the nature of the role, a company van will be provided as well as power tools in order for you to complete jobs to a high standard.

The role of Multi-Trade Operative will include:

• Carrying out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties in line with contract specifications
• Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and restocking these when needed
• Responding positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery, by resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
• Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer

Skills and experiences:

• To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to or undertaking NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (carpentry, electrical. If Plumbing Level 3 is required, Unvented - G3 Certificate and Water Regulations (WRAS). As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted
• Awareness of health and safety regulations and working legislation
• Skills in some of the following disciplines - Plumbing, Carpentry and Joinery, kitchen and bathroom installations, UPVC door and window fitting
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to priorities workloads, work to deadlines and plan ahead
• This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
