Job summary

The Guinness Partnership is seeking a Multi Skilled Joiner to join the Empty Homes Team covering Sheffield and the surrounding area. This permanent role is 40 hours per week, with 8am-7pm Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings on a rota, plus an out-of-hours callout rota with additional pay.

The successful candidate will hold an NVQ Level 3 in the primary trade, have a full UK driving licence, and be capable in joinery, basic plumbing, tiling, groundwork, mould washes and flooring installation.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in primary trade.
• Experience in multi-trade repairs in social housing preferred.
• Ability to carry out basic plumbing, tiling, joinery and groundwork.

Responsibilities

• Undertake multi-skilled repairs in residents' homes.
• Work to targets and follow procedures with accurate records.
• Inspect and treat damp and mould as required.

About the Role

We are looking for a Multi Skilled Joiner to join our Empty Homes Team covering Sheffield and the surrounding area, delivering repairs and general multi-skilled work. This is a permanent role, working 40 hours per week covering the hours between 8am - 7pm Monday - Friday plus Saturday morning. The later shift and Saturday morning working is delivered on a rota basis.

The role includes participation in an out-of-hours callout rota, which comes with an additional payment. To ensure timely access to our residents, the successful candidate must live within the Sheffield area. A full UK driving licence is essential. A basic DBS check is required, which will be paid for by The Guinness Partnership.

Essential Requirements Of The Role

• You must be able to demonstrate competence within your primary trade, with the ability to carry out various multi-trade tasks such as basic plumbing, tiling, joinery, groundwork, mould washes/treatment and flooring installation.
• Experience of working in a customer-focused environment, ideally within the social housing sector, with a consistent track record of delivering high quality service.
• Proven ability to work methodically, achieve targets, follow agreed procedures and accurately record information.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, demonstrating organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to carry out physical tasks and apply products that remove and treat damp and mould, in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines.
• Ability to operate safely, considering any environmental circumstances and possible risks.

Essential Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (City & Guilds) Trade Qualification or an equivalent recognised competency in the primary trade.
