Job summary

Skillmatch Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Day Shift Multi-skilled Technician for a leading facilities management contractor in the UK. The role involves delivering both planned and reactive maintenance across M&E systems, with strong focus on safety and compliance.

You will perform routine tests and inspections, respond to service calls within SLAs, and work collaboratively with subcontractors to maintain high standards of service across facilities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of electrical and/or multi-disciplined maintenance including LV, lighting, fire alarms, emergency lighting, nurse call, DHW, LTHW and ventilation systems.
• Good interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail; awareness of Health & Safety legislation.
• Ability to work independently using own initiative and also as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned and reactive FM maintenance services as part of the day shift.
• Ensure day-to-day PPM activities of M&E maintenance meet contractual obligations.
• Maintain plant and equipment in line with OEM manuals and best practice.
• Respond to reactive calls within contractual timescales and complete job sheets and reports.
• Test emergency lighting (BS EN 5266), fixed wire (BS EN 7671) and lightning protection (BS EN 62305).

We are looking for a Day Shift Multi-skilled Technician who wants to work in a diverse role where no two days are the same.

As the Day Shift Multi-skilled Technician, you will provide the delivery of both planned and reactive FM maintenance services.

The Day Shift Multi-skilled Technician will be responsible for:

• Ensure that all day-to-day planned preventative maintenance activities of M&E maintenance is completed in line with contractual obligations.
• Ensure all plant and equipment are maintained in accordance with O&M manuals, best practice and relevant guidelines/legislation.
• Respond to reactive calls in line with contractual time scales and complete job sheets, reports and documentation as required.
• Carry out testing on emergency lighting systems (BS EN 5266), fixed wire testing (BS EN 7671), and lightning protection systems (BS EN 62305), rectifying faults where necessary.
• Assist in supervising subcontractors, carry out isolations, and follow SSOW, policies and procedures at all times.

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• Previous experience of electrical and/or multi-disciplined maintenance, including LV, lighting, fire alarms, emergency lighting systems, nurse call, DHW, LTHW, and ventilation systems.
• Good interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail and experience in Health & Safety legislation.
• Ability to work independently using own initiative, with excellent customer awareness and team working skills.
