Job summary

Kinnerton Confectionery in Fakenham, Norfolk, is seeking a proactive Shift Engineer to join our confectionery production team. This full-time role covers a night shift on a 4 on 4 off pattern (6pm-6am) with a 40.25-hour week, ensuring machinery runs safely and efficiently.

Key duties include planned maintenance, improving asset reliability, and supporting audits and continuous improvement initiatives. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and CMMS experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a recognised apprenticeship/qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• Manufacturing experience with machinery such as metal detectors, flow wrappers and PLC systems.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Proactive and able to work independently or in a team.
• Strong standards and problem-solving mindset.
• Computer literacy and CMMS knowledge.
• Understanding of food safety and health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Execute planned maintenance to standards and timeframes.
• Complete additional engineering tasks per policy and safety rules.
• Maintain and improve machine performance to meet quality standards.
• Collaborate with department heads and cross-functional teams.
• Deliver management-set objectives and maintain training compliance.
