Job summary

Join Edrington Group's UK Engineering team at Great Western Road as a Multi-Skilled Reliability Engineer. You will help maximise reliability and efficiency of bottling, warehousing, and luxury product operations, ensuring equipment operates safely and effectively to meet business demands.

You will apply condition monitoring, data-driven analysis and continuous improvement to reduce downtime, drive performance, and support safety and quality objectives across the global supply chain.

Qualifications

  • Time-served apprenticeship and multi-skilled qualification required.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with condition monitoring knowledge.
  • Experience with vibration analysis, thermography and oil analysis is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement (CI) and Lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and teamwork skills.
  • Health and Safety knowledge is desirable; training provided.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze equipment performance and maintenance data to identify trends and improve reliability.
  • Use condition monitoring to proactively detect failures and reduce downtime.
  • Enhance maintenance strategies and asset care standards for value and performance.
  • Lead root cause investigations to implement sustainable solutions.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations and Stores to optimize spare parts.
  • Provide hands-on technical troubleshooting for high-impact equipment issues.
  • Champion continuous improvement to enhance safety, quality, service and equipment performance.
  • Support engineering capability with best practice guidance and training.
  • Promote safety culture through audits, risk assessments and safe practices.
  • Participate in reviews and improvement activities supporting Global Supply Chain objectives.

As a Multi-Skilled Reliability Engineer, you will help maximise the performance, reliability and efficiency of our bottling, luxury products and warehousing operations, ensuring our equipmentoperatessafely and effectively to meet business demands.

Working as part of Edrington's Global Supply Chain function, you will use your technicalexpertise, problem-solving skills and passion for continuous improvement toidentifyopportunities to enhance equipment performance, reduce downtime and drive operational excellence. Collaborating closely with Engineering,Operationsand other stakeholders, you will provide hands-on support for complex technical challenges while contributing to the delivery of our safety,qualityand serviceobjectives.

As aMulti-Skilled Reliability Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in improving equipment reliability, performance and efficiency across our bottling, luxuryproductsand warehousing operations.You'lluse data-driven insights, technicalexpertiseand continuous improvement methodologies toidentifyopportunities, solve complexchallengesand drive operational excellence.

  • Analyse equipment performance and maintenance data toidentifytrends, recurringissuesand opportunities to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Use condition monitoring techniques and predictive maintenance technologies to proactively detect and prevent equipment failures.
  • Enhance maintenance strategies and asset care standards, ensuring maintenance activities deliver maximum value and support operational performance.
  • Lead and support root cause investigations into significant equipment failures,identifyingsustainable solutions that prevent recurrence.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Operations and Stores teams to optimise spare parts strategies and improve equipment availability.
  • Provide hands-on technicalexpertiseand troubleshooting support for complex or high-impact equipment issues.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives, driving enhancements in safety, quality,serviceand equipment performance.
  • Support the development of engineering capability through the creation of best practice guidance and delivery of technical training.
  • Contribute to a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with safe working practices, supporting audits and risk assessments, and actively promoting a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the business,participatingin operational reviews and improvement activities that help deliver our Global Supply Chainobjectives.
Your Talent and Skills

To be successful in this role, you have completed a recognised time-served apprenticeship, preferably with reliability experience, and hold a multi-skilled qualification. You bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with knowledge of condition monitoring techniques such as vibration analysis, thermography and oil analysis being advantageous. You have a working knowledge of Continuous Improvement (CI) and Lean manufacturing tools and techniques, and demonstrate a positive, solution-oriented approach to challenges. Excellent communication, organisational and teamwork skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders across the organisation. A sound knowledge and practical understanding of Health and Safety legislation and statutory requirements is desirable, although full training and support will be provided.

If coming from a background in the whisky industry or other manufacturing environments,we’dlike to hear more about the type and manufacturer of equipment that you have experience of working on.

Whilst it is advantageous to have experience with the above equipment, we will provide all necessary training.
