As a Mechanical Engineer (Compliance) you’ll play a key role in ensuring our Leven Packaging site remains fully compliant with current legislation and Diageo Global Technical Standards. Reporting to the Site Engineering Maintenance Manager you will lead and support compliance activities across a broad range of areas including LOLER, DSEAR, PUWER, Pressure Systems, Asbestos, Legionella, COMAH, LOTO, process safety, and risk assessments. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external contractors to coordinate inspections, implement remedial actions, maintain statutory maintenance plans within SAP and ensure engineering documentation, safety systems and compliance processes are robust, current and audit-ready. This is an excellent opportunity to drive engineering excellence, influence site standards, and contribute to a safe and high-performing manufacturing environment.
We’re looking for a time-served Mechanical Engineer, ideally qualified to HNC level with IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH certification. You’ll have strong knowledge of mechanical systems, the ability to interpret technical drawings and P&IDs and be confident using systems such as Microsoft Office and SAP or other CMMS platforms. Experience with mechanical legislation, functional safety, planned maintenance, and continuous improvement methodologies would be advantageous. Most importantly, you will be a proactive problem solver with a passion for safety, compliance, and engineering best practice, able to influence others, coach colleagues and contribute to shaping the future of our operations through strong execution, collaboration, and continuous development.
