Proposed Interview date: Wednesday 25 & Thursday 26 November

Salary: £ 31,706.26

About the vacancy:

We are looking for a Multi-Skilled Painter and Decorator to join our Empty Homes Team, helping to prepare and improve properties so they're ready for new residents.

This is a varied, hands‑on role where you'll deliver high-quality painting and decorating work alongside a range of general maintenance tasks. You'll be part of a supportive team that takes pride in delivering excellent customer service, maintaining high safety standards, and ensuring homes are safe, welcoming, and ready for occupation.

*A Full UK driving license is essential for this role.

Specifically, in the role you will:

  • Deliver high-quality painting and decorating services across residential properties, ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and to required standards.
  • Undertake a range of multi-skilled maintenance tasks where required, including basic carpentry, plumbing, tiling, and plastering to support overall property repairs.
  • Carry out all work in line with manufacturer instructions, industry best practice, and current regulations.
  • Inspect works, identify defects, and implement practical solutions to maintenance issues.
  • Plan and organise work schedules, interpreting verbal and written instructions to meet service delivery targets.
  • Estimate, order, and manage materials and stock effectively to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Accurately record work activities, time, materials, and job progress using electronic/mobile systems, including maintaining records, risk assessments, and compliance documentation.
  • Operate and maintain allocated vehicles responsibly, including conducting daily safety checks and ensuring safe and courteous use.
  • Ensure safe use, handling, and storage of tools, equipment, and materials, reporting defects as required.
  • Work in full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, GDPR, equality and diversity standards, and all company policies and procedures.
  • Deliver excellent customer service by engaging professionally with residents, responding to requests, resolving issues, and using feedback to improve services.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, residents, contractors, and external partners to support a collaborative “one team” approach.
  • Mentor, coach, and support apprentices and colleagues as required.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to organisational objectives, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Represent the organisation professionally at all times and undertake any additional duties appropriate to the role.
