Hedyn is seeking a Multi Skilled Labourer to join our Maintenance team, delivering high-quality repairs and property improvements across our housing portfolio. You will perform labouring, carpentry, plumbing, electrical tasks and assist skilled trades to maintain homes for residents.

You will work to high standards, record work and materials, drive a works vehicle where required, and support apprentices. Hedyn offers enhanced pension, extra annual leave, agile working, and development

Qualificações

• Experience in labouring and maintenance tasks within housing or property services.
• Ability to perform basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, tiling, plastering and painting tasks.
• Comfort working in potentially hazardous environments and complying with health and safety rules.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver a professional, safe and cost‑effective repairs and maintenance service.
• Undertake general labouring duties including clearance and disposal of items.
• Carry out inspections to identify faults and report findings.
• Perform a range of multi‑skilled tasks across trades as required.
• Assist skilled trades and complete repairs within agreed timescales and quality standards.
• Record work, time and materials accurately using electronic systems.
• Drive and maintain an allocated works vehicle and check safety of tools.
• Manage stock levels and assist with procurement of materials.

About the vacancy:

We are looking to hire Multi Skilled Labourer to join our Maintenance team, helping to deliver high-quality repairs and property improvement works that make a real difference to our residents. You'll play a key role in maintaining safe, comfortable, and well-presented homes, carrying out a range of labouring, repair, and maintenance tasks while supporting skilled trades across our housing portfolio.

Specifically, in the role you will:

• Deliver a professional, safe, and cost-effective repairs and maintenance service, ensuring high standards of workmanship and compliance with regulations.


• Undertake general labouring duties, including property clearance and disposal of items such as kitchens, wardrobes, and other structures, working safely in potentially hazardous environments.


• Carry out preliminary inspections to identify faults or defects and report findings.


• Perform a range of basic multi-skilled tasks, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, tiling, plastering, painting, and external works, as well as activities such as attic insulation and ceiling over boarding where required.


• Assist skilled trades and complete repairs within agreed timescales and quality standards.


• Pre-inspect jobs, identify materials required, and ensure efficient use of resources.


• Accurately record work completed, time, and materials using electronic systems.


• Drive and maintain an allocated works vehicle, including daily safety checks, and ensure safe storage and use of tools and equipment.


• Manage stock levels and support procurement of materials as required.


• Work in accordance with Health & Safety policies, safe systems of work, and all statutory and regulatory requirements.


• Deliver excellent customer service, responding to service requests, resolving issues, and managing complaints effectively.


• Build positive relationships with residents, always maintaining professionalism and clear communication.


• Work collaboratively with colleagues, contractors, and external partners to deliver a seamless “one team” service.


• Support and mentor apprentices and colleagues where required.


• Maintain accurate records and contribute to achieving organisational KPIs and strategic priorities.


• Participate in training, continuous improvement, and service development initiatives.


• Comply with all company policies and procedures and undertake any additional duties appropriate to the role.
