Salary: Up to £36,500 per annum
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time, 42.5 hours/week, Monday to Friday
Mears provides temporary accommodation to asylum seekers while their claims are being assessed across three regions: Northeast, Yorkshire and Humber, Northern Ireland, and Scotland. As of May 2021, Mears supported over 19,000 service users. We partner with government bodies, landlords, and investors to address homelessness, increase social and affordable housing, and develop specialist housing for people with care needs.
We are seeking a Multi Skilled Operative at our Wakefield branch due to contract expansion. Your main duties will include repairs and refurbishment of occupied accommodation, delivering excellent customer service while adhering to safety, quality, and cost standards. Key tasks include general repairs such as replacing doors, taps, baths, and fixing radiators, along with property inspections and varied maintenance activities.
Note: All roles require entitlement to work in the UK; Mears does not currently sponsor visas. Applicants must pass DBS/Security checks, including providing proof of address, references, a valid passport, and proof of UK residence for the last 5 years. To operate a Mears vehicle, you must be over 21, have held your license for over 3 months, and have fewer than 9 points.
