TipTopJob is recruiting a Multiskilled Maintenance Technician for days shift in Tredegar, South Wales. You will maintain production equipment, diagnose faults and perform planned and predictive maintenance to keep lines running safely and efficiently.

The successful candidate will have a 4-year indentured apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical engineering, with strong fault finding and problem-solving skills and the ability to work on own initiative and in a team.

Qualifications

• Completion of a 4-year indentured apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Experience in maintenance within a manufacturing environment is advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and restore production promptly.
• Carry out planned and preventative maintenance activities.
• Support proactive maintenance and continuous improvement projects.
• Keep maintenance records up to date in spreadsheets/systems.
• Collaborate with the Maintenance Foreman to minimise downtime.

Muti Skilled Maintenance Technician : Days

Location: Tredegar, South Wales

Salary: A GBP 35,000 DOE

Hours: Monday:Friday, 7:00am:4:45pm

Are you a skilled Maintenance Engineer looking for your next challenge?

Were looking for an experienced and proactive Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing environment as part of a core maintenance team.

This is a hands:on role where no two days are the same. Youll play a key part in keeping production equipment running safely and efficiently, responding to breakdowns, completing planned preventative maintenance and getting involved in improvement projects that make a real difference to the operation.

If youre someone who enjoys fault:finding, problem:solving and getting to the root cause of issues : while also having the mechanical and electrical skills to get things back up and running : this could be an excellent opportunity for you.

The Role

• Respond quickly and effectively to equipment breakdowns.
• Carry out planned and preventative maintenance.
• Complete proactive and predictive maintenance activities.
• Support continuous improvement and engineering improvement projects.
• Work with the Maintenance Foreman to achieve maintenance objectives and minimise equipment downtime.
• Carry out maintenance tasks independently and use your initiative to resolve problems.
• Maintain and improve production equipment to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation.
• Complete relevant health, safety and environmental maintenance activities.
• Support maintenance records and update relevant spreadsheets and systems.

What Were Looking For

Were looking for a well:rounded Maintenance Engineer with strong electrical and mechanical engineering skills.

Electrical skills

You Should Have Experience With

• Electrical fault finding and control panels.
• Motors and switchgear.
• Inverters.
• Electrical installation work.
• PLC fault finding and diagnostics, ideally including Siemens S5 and S7 .
• Preventative and proactive electrical maintenance.

Mechanical skills

Youll also need a good understanding of mechanical maintenance, with experience in areas such as:

• Hydraulics.
• Pneumatics.
• Mechanical fault finding.
• Fabrication and welding.
• Press machinery.
• Injection moulding equipment.

Experience in these additional areas would be beneficial but is not essential .

Maintenance and Continuous Improvement

Youll have a good understanding of modern maintenance practices, including:

• Planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
• Predictive maintenance.
• Autonomous maintenance.
• Continuous improvement.
• Kaizen.
• Lean manufacturing principles.
• 5S and Six Sigma.

Youll also be comfortable using maintenance tools and applying structured problem:solving techniques to identify and resolve equipment issues.

Health, Safety and Compliance

Safety is at the heart of the role, so youll need a good understanding of relevant HSE requirements and maintenance procedures.

Experience Or Knowledge Of The Following Would Be Advantageous
