Job summary

The Curve Group is seeking a skilled Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer for our Birmingham-area manufacturing site. The role covers electrical and mechanical maintenance across plant, building equipment and automated lines.

You will perform planned and reactive maintenance, fault-find PLCs, install electrical systems, and maintain CMMS schedules. A strong safety mindset and hands-on approach are essential for keeping equipment reliable and production targets met.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing, production or industrial environment.
• City & Guilds Level 3 qualification in Electrical, Mechanical or Engineering.
• 18th Edition electrical qualification.
• Experience with PLC systems and electrical controls.
• Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Apprentice-trained engineering background preferred.
• Experience with high-temperature ovens and blow moulders advantageous.
• Strong health & safety understanding.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical and mechanical maintenance across plant, machinery and building equipment.
• Complete planned preventative and reactive maintenance within agreed timeframes.
• Fault-find and repair automated manufacturing equipment.
• Carry out electrical installations in line with current regulations.
• Support installation, commissioning and maintenance of automated equipment.
• Diagnose electrical control issues, including PLC fault-finding.
• Work with AC/DC drives, motors and pumps.
• Undertake mechanical repairs and support other engineering disciplines.
• Maintain and document preventative maintenance schedules using a CMMS.
• Identify recurring faults and develop solutions to improve reliability.
• Work independently and as part of a team to achieve targets.
• Ensure all work complies with health & safety policies.

Salary: up to £43k DOE

Hours: 7am-4pm and 1pm-10pm

Job Type: Full Time | Permanent

Due to continued growth and investment, we are looking for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our expanding engineering team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a practical and proactive engineer to play a key role in maintaining and improving a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Working closely with the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for keeping plant, machinery and facilities running safely and efficiently through a combination of planned, preventative and reactive maintenance.

The Role:

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will:

• Carry out electrical and mechanical maintenance across plant, machinery and building equipment.
• Complete planned preventative and reactive maintenance, ensuring work orders are completed within agreed timeframes.
• Fault-find and repair a range of automated manufacturing equipment.
• Carry out electrical installations in line with current regulations.
• Support the installation, commissioning and maintenance of automated manufacturing equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical control issues, including PLC fault-finding.
• Work with AC/DC drives, motors and pumps.
• Undertake mechanical repairs and support other engineering disciplines where required.
• Maintain and document preventative maintenance schedules using a CMMS.
• Identify recurring faults and proactively develop solutions to improve equipment reliability.
• Work independently and as part of a wider engineering team to achieve maintenance and production targets.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company health & safety policies and procedures.
• Take a proactive approach to problem-solving, considering different options to find effective and practical solutions.

About You:

We are looking for an experienced maintenance engineer with a strong practical background within a manufacturing, production or industrial environment.

Ideally, you will have:

• A City & Guilds Level 3 qualification in Electrical, Mechanical or Engineering.
• 18th Edition qualification.
• Experience working with PLC systems and electrical controls.
• Knowledge of AC/DC drives, motors and pumps.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment.
• Ideally, an apprentice-trained engineering background.
• Experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of high-temperature ovens and blow moulders would be advantageous.
• A strong understanding of health & safety within an engineering environment.
• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
