Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR in Leicester is seeking a proactive Maintenance Operative to join a busy student accommodation team. You will perform planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance to keep the estate safe, compliant, and well-presented.

You will apply hands-on trades across plumbing, decorating and joinery, respond quickly to requests, inspect rooms and communal areas, and help maintain records for inspections and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Proven maintenance/trade experience.
• Strong practical skills across general maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Reliable and self-motivated with ownership of tasks.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to maintenance requests via internal systems.
• Carry out general repairs including plumbing, decorating and joinery.
• Support reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities.
• Conduct regular inspections of rooms and communal areas.
• Identify and address maintenance issues and health & safety risks.
• Support record-keeping for maintenance logs, inspections and compliance.
• Deliver a professional and approachable service to residents/colleagues.
• Communicate clearly and effectively across teams.
