Job summary

Jenrick Group is seeking an experienced Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer for a leading food manufacturer in Bradford. You will perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on production machinery, fault finding and repairs to minimise downtime and maintain equipment reliability.

The role operates on a permanent night shift, 42 hours per week, on a 2-2-3 Panama pattern. The ideal candidate has apprenticeship training or NVQ Level 3 in Engineering, with FMCG or food manufacturing experience,

Qualifications

• Apprentice-trained or qualified in Engineering at NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• ONC/BTEC in Mechanical & Electrical engineering advantageous.
• Experience in FMCG or food manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across a busy food manufacturing site.
• Responding to machinery breakdowns with fault finding and timely repairs.
• Maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical production equipment.
• Carrying out routine inspections to identify issues before failure.
• Completing planned maintenance in line with schedule.
• Adjusting and changing over machines to support production.
• Troubleshooting equipment including conveyors, motors, pumps, and packaging machinery.
• Monitoring/calibrating equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Collaborating with Production to address recurring faults and improvements.
• Providing technical support to production colleagues.
• Maintaining accurate records of maintenance and parts.
• Ensuring maintenance work follows health & safety procedures.
• Supporting continuous improvement to improve reliability and reduce downtime.

Job description

Are you an experienced Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer looking to join a leading food manufacturing company based in Bradford?

You will have strong mechanical and electrical maintenance experience gained within an FMCG environment and be confident fault finding and repairing a wide range of production machinery. As a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in keeping the manufacturing site running efficiently, minimising downtime and ensuring machinery is maintained to the highest standard. Offering a competitive salary of £56,000, excellent benefits and a permanent night shift working 42 hours per week on a 2-2-3 Panama pattern.

As a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer your role will involve:

• Carrying out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across a busy food manufacturing site
• Responding quickly to machinery breakdowns, fault finding and carrying out effective repairs to minimise production downtime
• Maintaining and repairing the mechanical and electrical elements of production machinery
• Carrying out routine inspections and identifying potential issues before they lead to equipment failure
• Completing planned maintenance activities in line with the site maintenance schedule
• Carrying out machine adjustments and changeovers to support production requirements
• Troubleshooting and repairing equipment including conveyors, motors, pumps and packaging machinery
• Monitoring and calibrating equipment to ensure machinery operates safely, efficiently and accurately
• Working closely with the Production team to identify recurring faults and opportunities for improvement
• Providing technical support and advice to production colleagues where required
• Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs and spare parts
• Ensuring all maintenance work is completed in accordance with company health & safety procedures
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to improve machinery reliability and reduce downtime
• Working proactively to ensure the reliability and availability of all production equipment

Hours of work

• 42 hours per week
• Night Shift - 18:00 - 06:00
• 2-2-3 Panama Shift Pattern
• You will work a combination of 2 nights on, 2 nights off and 3 nights on, followed by 2 nights off, continuing on a rotating basis.

Suitable Candidates

• Apprentice-trained or qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Engineering
• ONC Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or BTEC Level 3 in Mechanical & Electrical/Electronic Engineering would be advantageous
• Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance experience gained within an FMCG or food manufacturing environment
• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Experience working with industrial machinery such as conveyors, motors, pumps and packaging equipment
• A proactive approach to preventative maintenance and equipment reliability
• Good understanding of HACCP principles and food manufacturing standards
• Ideally qualified to 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Excellent communication skills and able to work effectively as part of an engineering and production team
• Confident making decisions and responding quickly to breakdowns
• A hands-on, can-do attitude with a strong work ethic
