Job summary

Barry Callebaut Group in the United Kingdom is seeking a Multi-Skilled Engineering Technician to keep production equipment running at peak performance. The role covers preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown support within a fast-paced site environment.

You will diagnose faults, drive TPM and continual improvement, and work with operators to maximise OEE while upholding food safety and health & safety standards.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in mechanical or electrical discipline.
• Engineering apprenticeship background.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills, PLC-based equipment (Siemens preferred).
• Good health and safety knowledge; permit-to-work systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide rapid response to equipment breakdowns with fixes and permanent solutions.
• Own TPM cell performance; maximise machine reliability with operators.
• Support daily direction meetings and help achieve OEE targets.
• Diagnose faults using structured problem solving and implement corrective actions.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance during production and shutdowns.
• Collaborate with production teams to resolve technical issues.
• Identify and drive continuous improvement through TPM, Lean and RCA.
• Record maintenance activities, root causes, labour and parts in CMMS.
• Participate in TPM (BCOS) and develop towards Cell Lead capability.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure safe systems of work.
• Issue permits to work and immobilisation certificates where required.
• Maintain highest standards of food safety, product quality and safety compliance.
