Shepley Spring Ltd is seeking a Multi-Skilled Engineer to maintain the site’s high-speed bottling lines. You will perform planned preventive maintenance, diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, and support continuous improvement to maximise equipment reliability, efficiency and product quality.

The role involves responding to equipment breakdowns, working with external contractors, and ensuring adherence to HACCP and GMP standards within a food and beverage manufacturing environment.

Qualificações

• Degree, diploma or equivalent engineering qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in a multi-skilled engineering or maintenance role within manufacturing.
• Strong mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge.
• Experience with food and beverage or FMCG manufacturing is desirable.
• Exposure to Krones-manufactured machinery would be beneficial.
• Knowledge of PLCs, automated systems and industrial control systems.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults.
• Understanding of food safety standards, HACCP and GMP.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics and engineering manuals.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and safe working practices.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritise workloads and perform effectively under pressure.

Responsabilidades

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance across production machinery, including mechanical, electrical and PLC-controlled systems.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns, diagnosing faults and completing repairs to minimise production downtime.
• Identify opportunities to improve machinery reliability and performance.
• Provide engineering support to production teams to ensure machinery operates efficiently.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and automation issues using appropriate diagnostic tools.
• Support the installation, commissioning and upgrading of production equipment.
• Work with external suppliers and contractors during equipment installation and maintenance.
• Follow all relevant health, safety and food safety regulations during maintenance activities.
• Ensure safe working practices when working with machinery, electrical systems and hazardous materials.
• Support risk assessments and ensure maintenance activities are carried out safely.
• Identify and implement improvements to machinery, processes and equipment efficiency.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, documenting repairs, parts used and work completed.
• Support maintenance schedules and ensure equipment is regularly serviced.
• Monitor spare parts and engineering supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels.
• Work collaboratively with production teams and provide technical guidance to operators where required.
