Job summary

Workforce Recruitment is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer for a busy manufacturing site in Birmingham. You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance on production machinery, with a bias toward electrical or mechanical fault-finding and PLC-controlled equipment.

This permanent, full-time role offers Monday to Friday day shifts, overtime opportunities, a competitive salary of £40,000–£46,000, and on-site parking.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding capabilities.
• Experience with planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Knowledge of PLC systems and automated production machinery.
• Understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Level 3 engineering qualification in Electrical, Mechanical or Multi-Skilled Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across production machinery.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults to minimise production downtime.
• Respond to machinery breakdowns and identify root causes of recurring issues.
• Carry out fault finding on PLC-controlled machinery and automated production systems.
• Maintain and repair pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
• Work on motors, gearboxes, sensors, inverters and control systems.
• Read and interpret electrical and mechanical engineering drawings.
• Support machinery installations, upgrades and continuous improvement projects.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and report equipment faults.
