Job summary

Synergi is recruiting a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias) for its busy poultry manufacturing site in the UK. Working on a fixed 4-on, 4-off shift pattern, you will ensure production equipment operates safely and efficiently through planned preventative maintenance, rapid breakdown response and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will diagnose mechanical faults, perform welding and fabrication, and carry out first-line fault-finding on electrical issues where relevant.

Qualifications

• Experience in a mechanical maintenance engineering role within manufacturing, FMCG, food production or a similar industrial environment.
• Strong fault-finding and repair skills on production machinery.
• Welding and fabrication experience.
• Experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance.
• A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive and reactive maintenance across production machinery and site services.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
• Complete welding and fabrication work as required.
• Perform first-line fault finding on electrical issues where appropriate.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using a CMMS.
• Complete maintenance documentation, handover reports and work orders.
• Identify opportunities to improve plant reliability, efficiency and reduce costs.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with Health & Safety, Food Safety and quality standards.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards within engineering workshops and production areas.
• Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to maximise equipment performance.

• Previous experience within food manufacturing or other high-volume production environments.
