We are recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer (Electrical Bias Preferred) to join a highly automated manufacturing environment operating a 24/7 production facility. Working a rotating days and nights shift pattern, you will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, and continuous improvement activities to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across automated production equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
- Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
- Work safely in line with health & safety, food safety and GMP standards.
- Record maintenance activities using a CMMS.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure efficient plant performance.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
- A recognised engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent).
- At least 3 years' maintenance engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong electrical fault-finding skills with mechanical maintenance knowledge.
- Experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on automated equipment.
- Exposure to PLC-controlled machinery and fault finding.
- Ability to work independently and within a fast-paced shift environment.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience within Food Manufacturing, FMCG, Beverage, Packaging, Pharmaceutical or other automated production environments.
- Knowledge of SAP, SCADA, LOTO, GMP and Food Safety.
- Experience with Root Cause Analysis, Permit to Work systems and contractor management.
- Experience working on conveyors, packaging machinery, motors, pumps, valves, pneumatic, hydraulics, VSDs and PLC-controlled equipment.
- Ex-Forces engineers with strong maintenance and fault-finding experience are encouraged to apply.
