Job summary

1st Step Solutions Ltd in Sheffield is recruiting a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a forward-thinking plastics manufacturer. The role is days-based, 37.5 hours per week, with a salary of £44,000–£50,000 plus overtime, bonus and a pension.

You will work across electrical and mechanical systems, carry out maintenance, respond to breakdowns, deliver planned maintenance, and support improvements on new and existing lines. Training and progression into leadership roles are highlighted.

Qualifications

• Experience across electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience in maintenance or service roles.
• Open to engineers from any background; manufacturing experience not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical and mechanical maintenance.
• Respond to breakdowns and minimise downtime.
• Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
• Support improvements across production lines (new and existing).
• Work in a days-based team, 37.5 hours (Mon–Fri).
• Overtime available on a voluntary basis.
