Job summary

1st Step Solutions Ltd in Sheffield is recruiting a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a forward-thinking plastics manufacturer. The role is days-based, 37.5 hours per week, with a salary of £44,000–£50,000 plus overtime, bonus and a pension.

You will work across electrical and mechanical systems, carry out maintenance, respond to breakdowns, deliver planned maintenance, and support improvements on new and existing lines. Training and progression into leadership roles are highlighted.

• Experience across electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience in maintenance or service roles.
• Open to engineers from any background; manufacturing experience not essential.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Engineer to join a growing and forward-thinking plastics manufacturer in Sheffield. With recent investment into three new production lines and continued expansion plans, the company is now strengthening its maintenance team - offering real progression into leadership roles.

The Opportunity

This is a technically varied, hands-on role within a modern manufacturing environment, where you’ll work across both electrical and mechanical systems. You’ll be joining a business that actively invests in its people, offering training and development to help you become a fully multi-skilled engineer.

The Role

• Carry out both electrical and mechanical maintenance
• Respond to breakdowns and minimise downtime
• Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
• Support ongoing improvements across new and existing production lines
• Work within a days-based team, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours)
• Optional overtime available to significantly boost earnings

The Person

• Electrically qualified
• Experience of working across multifunction teams to deliver machine performance through their Electrical and Mechanical skills
• Experience in maintenance or service (mechanical and/or electrical)
• Open to engineers from any background, manufacturing experience not essential
• Keen to learn, develop and progress within a growing business
