Job summary

Lactalis UK & Ireland in Stranraer is seeking Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineers to join our engineering team on a fast-paced dairy production site. You will help maintain and improve our packaging and processing lines, respond to breakdowns, and support planned maintenance.

The role offers 4 on/4 off shifts, a permanent full-time contract, and opportunities for career development within a global dairy business. We value problem-solving, teamwork and a proactive approach to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• An engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in a food manufacturing/FMCG environment.
• Strong fault-finding across mechanical and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure production equipment operates safely, efficiently and reliably.
• Carry out planned preventive maintenance across site assets.
• Diagnose faults and deliver mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to boost efficiency and performance.
• Collaborate with production teams to minimise downtime and maximise productivity.
• Maintain maintenance records using the site’s system.
• Assist with installation, commissioning and optimisation of new equipment.
• Support health, safety, food safety and environmental standards.
• Contribute to root cause analysis and long-term corrective actions.
• Share knowledge and support the development of colleagues and apprentices.
