Job summary

The Sterling Choice is recruiting a Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer to join a fast-paced production environment. You’ll diagnose faults on mechanical, electrical and PLC systems and fix them with minimal sign-offs, keeping the plant running through planned, preventive and reactive maintenance.

You’ll work 4 on / 4 off days and nights, support installs and upgrades, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining records and stock levels.

Qualifications

• Solid experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, ideally in food manufacturing or FMCG.
• Electrical/electro-mechanical qualification(s) required.
• PLC fault finding capability.
• Problem-solver who fixes root causes, not just symptoms.
• Able to work solo or as part of a team without missing a beat.
• Proficient with maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Strong knowledge of H&S and food hygiene protocols.

Responsibilities

• Keeping the plant running - planned, preventative, reactive, the lot.
• Electrical fault finding on PLCs, motors and control panels.
• Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical, electrical and automation faults.
• Supporting installs, refurbs and upgrades.
• Driving continuous improvement, not just patching problems.
• Keeping records straight and stock levels sorted.
• Working 4 on / 4 off, days and nights.
