Job summary

In The News is seeking a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join its food manufacturing site in Greater Manchester on a 4 on 4 off days pattern. You’ll join an established engineering team, focused on reducing downtime, improving reliability, and driving continuous improvement across the site.

You’ll work on PLC-controlled automated production and packaging machinery, delivering preventative maintenance and fast fault resolution.

Qualifications

Time-served apprenticeship or engineering qualification.
Multi-skilled maintenance experience in manufacturing.
Strong electrical fault-finding abilities.
Strong mechanical fault-finding abilities.
Experience with PLC-controlled equipment.
Proven ability to minimise downtime and improve asset performance.

Responsibilities

Reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability across the site.
Lead fault finding on automated production and packaging machinery.
Carry out planned preventative maintenance to maximise asset performance.
Support continuous improvement projects to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
Work with production teams to identify and resolve recurring engineering issues.
Ensure safe operation by following engineering and health & safety standards.
